I just received this bowl in the mail a few days ago. It is even more lovely than the photo depicted, and I had not noticed the cute birds that encircled the outside of the bowl in the photo.
I guess I didn't pay enough attention to the size, because it turns out to be much larger than what I had anticipated, but makes a nice water bowl for my kittens, and will eventually be appropriate for their dry food. It holds a full three cups, and I had anticipated it to be about half that size.

It is gorgeous, good workmanship but too large for a cat dish. I purchased two of them ( different design) One I use for dry food for the cats, the other became dish for my dog. Way too large for wet food. It is perfect size for a dog, if you do have a small or medium size dogs.

I bought 3 bowls, this one and 2 other designs, to use for my cat's dry food and water. Well, it seems that the little princess doesn't like seeing the images on the bottoms of the dishes. I've had to go back to using smaller, plain bowls for her and have put these dishes up to use for cereal or as serving bowls.
They are high quality, beautifully made and decorated, so I don't regret buying them except that they looked so happy on the floor (to me---not the cat) and I can't use them for the purpose I intended.
